JERUSALEM (JTA) — Two Palestinian terrorists were killed in Israeli airstrikes on a mortar launching squad.
The two gunmen, reported to be brothers aged 15 and 17, were killed shortly after launching a mortar attack Tuesday from Gaza on Israel’s Kerem Shalom crossing with the strip. The same squad had attacked a kibbutz in southern Israel earlier in the day.
Two Kassam rockets were fired at southern Israel on Tuesday evening. A Kassam rocket exploded near homes in an Ashkelon-area kibbutz Monday night.
Also Tuesday, roadblocks were set up at all entrances to Tel Aviv amid warnings of a plan to carry out a terror attack in central Israel. The roadblocks caused massive traffic jams throughout the Tel Aviv metropolitan area. The warning was lifted late Tuesday morning.
