The Anti Defamation League was minimally affected by the Madoff scandal.
From the organization:
The Anti-Defamation League Foundation, which holds the long term assets of ADL, including all of its legacy and endowment assets, has been in contact with its money managers. It has been determined that only one of the endowment portfolio managers had any exposure to the Madoff funds, and it was minimal. This represents less than 0.2% of ADL’s total portfolio.
As to the effect on donations, it is too early to tell, but it is one more element in a difficult financial environment.
As of Dec. 31, 2007, the ADL’s endowment was worth $162 million, which means that the organziation would have lost $324,000 off of that total.
