– Kadima has taken a slight lead over Likud in a newly released poll. The survey, commissioned by the Ma’ariv newspaper, has Kadima – led by Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni – taking 30 Knesset seats, with Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party winning 29 seats. Trailing further behind were Yisrael Beiteinu with 13 seats and Labor with 11.

The Ma’ariv poll follows on the heels of two polls released earlier in the week which found Likud had lost ground to Kadima in recent weeks, but still retained a lead in the mid-to-high single digits.

The Israeli general election will be held on February 10.
