ELMORE — The owner of a village antiques store hopes the person who stole a rare Holocaust artifact will voluntarily return it.
Mantiques owner Ernie Scarano said the thief can mail the item, a felt-and-canvas Star of David worn by a Jewish prisoner at Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland during World War II, to his store at 341 Rice St.
The star, which as part of an abstract sculpture depicting good and evil, was reported stolen April 9. Police have no leads.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Elmore Police Department at 419-862-3980.
