Jewish parents in New York are charging that Orthodox Jewish day schools in the city are not accommodating special-needs children in the community, particular when kids with Down’s Syndrome can be "mainstreamed."
NY 1 TV filed a video report on the subject, and several months ago Rabbi Dovid Cohen of the Young Israel of the West Side penned a column in the N.Y. Jewish Week about schools’ rejection of his own child, who has Down’s Syndrome.
