Either Mr. Stoudemire is very very new to Judaism, or to the NBA schedule, because to the best of my recollection, football and baseball are usually played at the time of the High Holidays (remember Sandy Koufax and Hank Ginsberg). While not a basketball fan, I seem to recall that NBA basketball starts in November or December.
