The National Jewish Democratic Council welcomed Texas Governor Rick Perry’s entry into the presidential race, predicting that "his record will help repel American Jews and remind them why they support Democrats in historic numbers."

"I voted for Pres Bush. I voted for Pres Clinton. I voted for Pres Obama. The next president will be Gov Rick Perry," tweeted the long-tongued rocker (born Chaim Witz in Haifa).
The NJDC had accused Perry of having "brought religion into his politics," predicting this would be a turn-off for Jews. But Simmons is hardly a religious conservative, having repeatedly boasted about his epic promiscuity.
Politics does make for strange bedfellows though.
