It’s been 15 years since the rapper Tupac Shakur was murdered (he was shot on September 7, 1996 in Las Vegas, and died 6 days later in the hospital). The hit on Tupac, followed by the killing of Notorious B.I.G, marked the peak of the East Coast-West Coast Rap War in the mid 90s.

Now members of the music world are paying tribute to one of the most influential West Coast hip-hop and Gangsta’ Rappers.

Jewish rapper Drake shared with The Boombox his feelings about Tupac.

“If there was anybody that I wish I could be a little more like, it’d probably be ‘Pac. I think more than anything, aside from his music, which was absolutely incredible, I think he just drove people with who he was, the way he carried himself. He was somebody who was a free spirit and he did not care, he just did what he felt. I wish I could have a little more ‘Pac to my persona. I’m working on it.”

, and the music world remembers one of the most influential West Coast hip-hop and Gangsta’ Rappers.
