JERUSALEM (JTA) — The Hebrew University of Jerusalem is forming an alumni network.
The university said in a statement that is the first Israeli university to reach out to former students through an alumni networking platform.
Hebrew U. also is looking to register former American alumni to join HUJIconnect.com, and said it is planning to establish an American Friends of Hebrew University alumni networking platform.
The university said it hopes the alumni network will provide a source for mentoring, jobs and funding for its current students.
Some 4,000 alumni have already signed up, approximately half have offered to be mentors to students, and 300 jobs have been posted, according to Shlomit Shulov Barkan, the university’s director of alumni relations.
