I respectfully believe the Jewish Telegraphic Agency News Brief you carried (“40 Columbia Profs Sign BDS Petition,” March 4) was too brief. It lacked context in two important respects. It did not say how many professors did not sign the petition. Secondly, the piece referred to all the allegations of the anti-Semites who signed the petition without at least correcting their misstatements of facts.
Israel is not an apartheid state; its “occupation” is at worst allegedly illegal; and Israel certainly acts more morally and ethically correct than many if not most of the UN nations who condemn it.
