Ten thousand displaced Jews today demonstrated here for three hours against the British deportation of the Exodus refugees to France. Over (##)000 Jews participated in similar meetings in Frankfurt, Bamberg, Regensburg and ##ttgart, and protest rallies are scheduled to be held in more than 100 camps in the American zone tomorrow. The Munich demonstration culminated in an orderly march on the British consulate here. However, the marchers were halted within 100 yeards of the building and Brig. Gen. Josiah T. Dalby, commander of the Munich military post, met with four leaders of the Central Jewish Committee of Germany, which called the protest meetings, they gave him a petition addressed to the British consul, which he turned over to the American consul. Dalby later called on the Committee to report that the petition had been handed to the British.

The document protested the “inhuman action of the British armed forces in ##oting innocent men, women and children and the policy of keeping survivors of ##tler’s hell out of Palestine.” It also demanded immediate opening of the gates ## Palestine to large-scale Jewish immigration. When the news of the plight of the Exodus passengers was received in the ## camps, the Jews were deeply shocked. The Committee yesterday cabled French ?emier Paul Ramadier calling on the French people to refuse to cooperate with the British.

Commenting on the demonstration here, Gen. Dalby said the conduct of the ##rchers was “excellent” and said the Munich military post will cooperate with the displaced Jews and “grant them all possible kindness and consideration.” Previous of the rally all troops had been ordered “under no conditions” to molest the Jews.
