The sum of 20,000,000 leva, approximately $250,000, has been imposed by the Bulgarian authorities upon 1,454 Jews in Sofia as a special one-time “Jewish tax,” the German press reaching here today reports. The contribution is a part of the special one-time tax which the Bulgarian government has decided to impose upon the Jewish population.
