Rabbi Israel Leichtmann of Fonivacz Yeshiva in B’nai B’raq and two of its senior lecturers, left for Switzerland yesterday where they will conduct a ten-day Talmud seminar for European Jews. The seminar will be held at the Dan Hotel in Lugano, from Dec. 24-Jan. 1. Jews from England, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland have registered for the sessions. The seminar has been labeled “Yarche Kala” after the ancient summer tradition when field work ended and Israelite farmers gathered in Jerusalem for studies, The custom was revived in Israel by the late Rabbi Joseph Kahanemann who was head of the Fonivacz Yeshiva.
