Ten persons were injured when a home-made bomb exploded in a bus traveling from Kfar Saba to Tel Aviv this morning. Two of the injured were hospitalized and are in serious condition. Both are Arabs from the administered territories. The other injured were given first aid on the spot. Many of the more than 40 passengers aboard the bus were Arabs from Kalkilya, a township near Kfar Saba. The bus was severely damaged.
Police said the bomb consisted of battery activated explosives concealed in a food tin. The tin also contained nails intended to inflict serious injuries. It was placed on a luggage rack in the middle of the bus. Simcha Wallach, the driver, told police he carried out his regular morning inspection before boarding passengers and found the bus clean. Police are investigating.
