A group of 100 Jewish immigrants are soon to be settled in Valparaiso, the second largest city of the Republic of Chile, as a result of the efforts of Dr. M. Aronstam, representative of Hias-Ica-Emigdirekt, who, together with a committee representing the Jewish community of Santiago is directing the work of settling Jewish immigrants in Chile. The Santiago Jewish Committee is presided over by Dr. Weinstein.
The Chilean government has issued permits for a certain number of Jewish immigrants to come in every month. The committee together with Dr. Aronstam is seeking to attract Jewish skilled workers, for whom there is a need in Chile.
