More than 100 Jewish leaders from across Canada met today to adopt a resolution condemning the anti-Zionist resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly and commending the Canadian government for voting against it. They also launched a public campaign of Zionist education and information across Canada.
External Affairs Minister Allan McEachen told the gathering that “the Canadian government opposes the tainted resolution adopted by the UN and is going to see whether the resolution will be rescinded. If not, Canada will not attend the anti-racist conference in Africa in 1977.”
