HIAS world headquarters today announced the receipt of a report from its Shanghai office that a considerable movement of Jews has begun from Harbin, Manchuria.
This is the first movement of any portion of the population from Harbin since the start of the war in the Pacific. According to information from the Jewish community of Harbin, a group of about 100 Jews left Harbin last month for Israel, via Tientsin.
