One hundred rabbis from 19 states in the United States and Canada, graduates of Yeshiva University’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, today received their “Semicha” (ordination), at a convocation attended by 2,000 persons. Dr. Samuel Belkin, president of Yeshiva University, presided at the ceremony. The exercises, the 13th in the history of the Seminary, also marked the 53rd anniversary of the founding of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, which was incorporated March 20, 1897.
