More than 100 Yeshiva teachers today received their teacher’s licenses at a ceremony at Torah Umesorah headquarters, thus becoming eligible to teach in Orthodox Day Schools throughout the country.
The requirements for these Yeshiva licenses were set during the past year by a Principals’ Commission comprised of principals of leading Jewish Orthodox day schools throughout the United States. The need for special licensing for the intensive educational program of day schools has long been felt by Day School administrators and was given impetus by the unceasing requests of local Federations and Bureaus of Education for the licensing of Yeshiva personnel.
