One thousand guests attended the fourth anniversary celebration of the Farband Hamlin House in Tel Aviv last night which coincided with a farewell to 200 American guests of the Histadrut who have completed a visit to Israel.
United States Ambassador Ogden Reid, Jr., speaking in Hebrew praised the pioneering spirit of Israel and its labor movement. Yehudit Simonit, head of the Histadrut political department, described the contributions of the Histadrut toward the development of democratic forces in Africa and Asia.
Other speakers included Tel Aviv Mayor Mordechai Namir, Histadrut treasurer Y. Levi and Israel Stolarsky, associate national secretary of the Histadrut campaign. Isaac Hamlin, who presided, said that 20,000 American tourists had been guests at the American Histadrut center in its four years.
