Some 1000 people attended a dinner hear last night welcoming 425 Israelis who will spend 10 days living with American families in the Greater Hartford area. The list of dignitaries at the dinner was headed by Connecticut Gov. Ella Grasso and Israeli Consul Shmuel Moyal from the Consulate in New York.
The Israeli group arrived Tuesday afternoon just before a group of 425 persons from the Hartford area, led by President Carter’s son, Chip, and his wife, Caron, left for Israel. Some 2000 persons attended a ceremony for the two groups at Bradley Airport here which was addressed by Mrs. Rosalynn Carter. Mrs. Carter is honorary chairperson of the national Friendship Force which is sponsoring a program of exchange visits between Americans and people from other countries.
