Approximately 1,000 Jews emigrated to Israel from the United States, during the Hebrew year 5720, according to figures released here today by the Jewish Agency.
Included among the newcomers from the U.S.A., the data showed, were 148 Halutzim, 76 Hassidim, 161 elderly persons, and 155 Americans who had decided to remain here after coming as visitors.
