More than 400 guests contributed in excess of $1,000,000 to the United Jewish Appeal at a luncheon of the real estate, builders, management and general contractors division of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York held at the Hotel Roosevelt in honor of Irving Schneider, UJA leader. James Wm. Gaynor, commissioner of the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal, was awarded a special industry citation.
Mr. Schneider has long been active in the real estate industry’s UJA efforts, and served as division chairman in 1964,1965 and again last year. Jack D. Weiler, honorary chairman of trustees of New York UJA, made the presentation to Mr. Schneider, Fred Rose, special gifts chairman, made the presentation to Commissioner Gaynor.
