More than $1,000,000 for the economic development of Israel was raised here at a dinner honoring Anthony Scotto, president of Local 1814 of the International Longshoremen’s Association, AFL-CIO. More than 650 representatives of 40 trade unions, as well as management representatives of the maritime industry, attended the dinner. Senator Wayne Morse of Oregon was the principal speaker.
