A capacity audience of 20,000 persons hailed the progress of modern Israel tonight at the eighth annual Chanukah Festival for Israel which brought to a climax the 1958 New York campaign for Israel bonds at Madison Square Garden.
As a result of the year-long city-wide drive and the Chanukah Festival, $10,000,000 in Israel bonds was purchased in New York during 1958, it was announced by Ira Guilden, general chairman of the Israel bond campaign in New York. The demand for tickets was so great that the Festival will have a second performance at Madison Square Garden next Monday evening.
