Twelve Nazis will spend six months in a concentration camp “for having profited from the recent Jewish demonstrations to enrich themselves personally,” and Joseph Buerckel, Nazi Party leader for Austria, has ordered that they be excluded from the party when released.

This was disclosed today by Vienna newspapers, which praised “the speedy decision” of the party leader as indicating the high moral attitude demanded of party members. Since newspapers in other parts of Germany did not print this report, it was interpreted as Vienna’s reply to reports recently printed abroad that a party purge recently occurred there.

In Frankfurt-am-Main workmen today were completing the destruction of three synagogues burned there during the pogrom.
