The Joint Distribution Committee has raised $1,231,000 to date in its $4,650,000 campaign, Rabbi Jonah B. Wise, co-chairman of the campaign announced today, and no less than $2,000,000 is expected to be contributed by July 1.
Rabbi Wise reported that 700 communities in the United States and Canada are participating in the Spring phase of the campaign. He said the leading cities had exceeded the quotas assigned them, including Cleveland, St. Louis, Richmond, New Orleans, Miami, Dallas, Portland, Me, New Haven, Canton, O., Minneapolis and Fort Wayne.
