There are 1,254 synagogues and Jewish temples in New York City, according to data in New York City’s latest official directory, published today. Of the total, the data showed, 1,103 were Orthodox, 103 Conservative and 48 Reform. The directory reported that there were, at the same time, 1,828 Protestant churches and 438 Catholic.
