The 12th annual convention of the Rabbinical Council of America opened here last night with more than 400 persons attending the first session.
Rabbi Joseph Lookstein, professor of sociology at Yeshiva University, addressing the conference, said that American Jews must continue to extend financial support to Israel. He predicted that the Jewish community in this country would receive “spiritual and cultural uplift” from the new state.
