The first session of the twelfth Triennial Convention of the National Council of Jewish Women opens here Monday at the Hotel Biltmore, with Mrs. Joseph E. Friend of New Orleans, national president, presiding. Over five hundred women from all parts of the country are gathering here for the convention which will close Friday night.
Monday’s speakers at the opening session will be the Governor of California; the Mayor of Los Angeles; Mrs. Hannah J. Solomon of Chicago, honorary president and founder of the council; Mrs. Friend, and Mrs. Lillian Burkhart Goldsmith, president of the Los Angeles chapter of the council.
