Thirteen professionals in Israel were awarded grants by the National Council of Jewish Women for graduate study in the United States. The fellowships sponsor advanced training at American graduate schools, and cover round-trip transportation, tuition and living expenses, The NCJW has awarded 225 fellowships since 1946 to educators and welfare specialists from Jewish communities of 17 countries.
Prominent among the new NCJW fellows is Menachem Horowitz, deputy director for the Adult Probation Department of the Ministry of Welfare in Israel; Yona Cohen, director of the Juvenile Probation Service of the Israeli Ministry of Welfare; Dr. Eliahu Erell, an expert in teacher training; Moshe Giladi, a science educator in the kibbutz movement; and Jack Grant, professional assistant in a special placement project for the disabled, in the Israeli Ministry of Labor.
