The legislatures of Minnesota, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island this week adopted resolutions urging the United States Government to use its good offices for the opening of Palestine to unrestricted immigration and colonization to enable the Jewish people to establish a free and democratic Jewish Commonwealth there, the American Zionist Emergency Council reported today.
To date, thirty-three states have adopted resolutions petitioning the United States Government to act in favor of Jewish aspirations in Palestine, the council said. The population of these states comprises eighty-five percent of the people of the United States. They are Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wyoming.
