At the beginning of January 136,000 of the 400,000 Jews in Palestine had acquired Palestine nationality, it was announced today, according to the Havas News Agency.
Despite Arab-Jewish difficulties, a vigorous campaign has been pushed to get Jews to take out naturalization papers and it was hoped to list another 50,000 as citizens of the country before the end of this year.
