The State Department disclosed today that 147 U.S. immigrant visas were issued to Israelis during the fiscal year 1955. Forty-nine came under the regular quota which allows 100 visas annually. The remaining 98 were non-quota immigrants. A State Department source expressed the opinion that Israel emigration to the United States was greater than American emigration to Israel.
