About 150 immigrants who have entered Palestine illegally besieged the offices of the Zionist Executive at seven o’clock yesterday morning and last night were still on the premises, declaring they would not leave until the Executive took measures to have their residence in Palestine legalized.
It was learned that the Zionist Executive later promised to arrange matters for the immigrants.
The illegal immigrants, who are from various countries, had turned down offers by representatives of the Executive to aid them later if they would disperse.
An official of the Executive attempted forcefully to eject the demonstrators, slightly injuring four of them.
A delegation of the immigrants called at the Jewish Telegraphic Agency pleading for transmission of a message asking the support of world Jewry and describing the sufferings of the immigrants who have been separated from their families for years.
They protested at the characterization of “Communists” applied to them in some quarters, declaring, “We are simple sufferers.”
