More than 1,500 Jewish couples were married in Palestine on Sunday, it was reported here today. This is the largest recorded number of marriages to take place on one day. This past Sunday marked the holiday of Lag B’Omer, which is the traditional “marriage day” in palestine.
The Palestine press today reports at great length on the conference of central Jewish organizations which took place here yesterday for the purpose of discussing the effects of the decline of the birth rate among Jews in Palestine on the future of the Jews in the country. Some newspapers suggest that prizes be given to families who have more than three children.
