Some 1500 boys and girls were participants in the largest Maccabiah Jamboree this year from July 30 to Aug. 2 in the Fitzroy Harbor Park, Ottawa region. The Jamboree was organized by the Youth and Hechalutz Department of the Canadian Zionist Federation under the direction of Haim Haham, its national director. The jamboree provided for a series of important sport activities. in addition, a team of six Israelis, specialists in music and dance, offered instructions in arts to the young campers. The Jamboree brought together for the first time young Jews from across Canada in a spirit of unity and Jewish identification.
