15,000 Refugees in France, Chief Rabbi Cables Union

The Union of Orthodox Rabbis ### the United States and Canada with headquarters at 214 East Broadway. New York City, announces the receipt of a cablegram from Rabbi Israel Levi, Chief Rabbi of France, in respect to Jewish refugees from Germany who are now in that country. The dispatch reads as follows:

“Fifteen Thousand Jewish Refugees from Germany are in France. The Hias-Ica-Emigdirect is Rendering the Utmost Aid to Them. Outside Help Absolutely Indispensable. A Large Fund is Necessary. Please Advise Consult and Cooperate with Hias, New York.”

The organization referred to above is the Hebrew Sheltering and Immigrant Aid Society of America known as HIAS, 425 Lafayette Street, this city, which is now raising an emergency fund for the relief of Jewish refugees from Germany. The ICA is the Jewish Colonization Organization.
