One hundred and fifty thousand dollars, in cash and pledges, were raised at the annual dinner of the Herzliah Hebrew Teachers Institute held tonight at the Hotel Pierre, for the building of a new dormitory to house out-of-town students from Latin American countries. The new building will be known as the Jacob and Libby Goodman Dormitory. Mr. Jacob Goodman contributed $50,000 to the Institute towards the purchase of the new building.
Israel Ambassador to the United States Avraham Harman was the guest speaker at the dinner which was tendered in tribute to Mr. Goodman on the occasion of completing 40 years of service to the furtherance of Hebrew Culture and Education in this country. In the absence of Mr. Goodman who is ill, Mrs. Jacob Goodman accepted a citation for her husband which was presented by Dr. Emanuel Neumann, honorary president of the ZOA and member of the Jewish Agency executive.
