Colonel D. J. Colville, Parliamentary Secretary for Overseas Trade, declared in the House of Commons today that 164 British firms were represented at the Levant Fair and that if there were not enough room in the British pavilion to house all the British exhibits Levant Fair authorities would house them in adjacent buildings.
Barnett Janner, Jewish Member of Parliament, who asked for the information, also asked what arrangements were being made for air transport to the Levant Fair Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister, British Secretary of State for Colonies, who replied, declared that arrangements were being made for the establishment of a temporary airport at Lydda, near Jaffa, and that it was hoped to have the airport ready for the opening of the Levant Fair.
