A total of 179 Israelis have been the beneficiaries of training grants under the United States program of aid to Israel, it was announced after a ceremony last night at which Dr. Lincoln Hale, head of the U. S. economic aid mission here, presented a certificate to Meir Ben-Zion Meiry, director of the Office of State Comptroller, who completed one such training course.
It was revealed that of 70 Israelis approved for such training courses this year, 42 have already left for the U.S. to begin their studies. The total cost of the program this year will come to $198,000, with the largest number of trainees concentrated In agriculture, followed by public administration, sanitation and health, transportation, mineral resources, industry, and education.
