One hundred and eighty children, dressed in their sleeping clothes, marked time in orderly ranks early this morning in the halls of the Marks Nathan Jewish Orphan Home, 1550 South Albany avenue, as fire attacked the rear of a three-story building which adjoins the orphanage.
Most of the children believed it was just another fire drill and thought the time rather unusual for such a drill. When the fire adjoining their home was brought under control they crawled sleepily back into their beds.
