About 18,000 of the 50,000 Jews who have already been deported from Slovakia are confined in interment camps in the towns of Lukow, Miedzyrzec-Podlaski and Chelm in Nazi-occupied Poland, it is reported in pro-Nazi Polish papers reaching here today. The Jews are allowed to communicate with their families only once a month.
The Polish papers also report that 300 Slovakian Jewish girls among the deportees have been sent to the forced labor camp for Jews at Oswiecim, which is considered the worst camp in Poland.
