Among them are those named for Dr. August Wassermann, the noted scientist; Alfred Messel, famous architect who designed the Berlin Museum, and George Hitzig, architect and grandson of Daniel Itzig, “court Jew” in the time of Frederick the Great.”
The Textile Journal states that complete “Aryanization” of Vienna’s economic structure is impossible without the aid of capital from the Old Reich. It urges that an opportunity be given to “Aryan” merchants to take over the larger Jewish enterprises.
Der Stuermer, Julius Streicher’s anti-Semitic weekly, attacks H.A.L. Fisher, British former Education Secretary, as a “menial of the Jews” for his history of Nazism, published in 1936, citing such phrases as: “Hitler is a little Austrian Messiah, fanatical, radical, hysterical and half crazy with anti-Semitism.”
