Two former British Cabinet ministers eulogized the late Prime Minister Levi Eshkol of Israel at a memorial meeting yesterday sponsored by the British Zionist Federation. Selwyn Lloyd, a Conservative Party Leader and former Foreign Secretary, declared that Mr. Eshkol was “a man of wisdom and courage who died in harness” and added, “may his lasting memorial be strength, security and prosperity for Israel for which he worked so diligently and ably.” Emanuel Shinwell, a Laborite and former Minister of Defense and Minister of Labor, said he was authorized by Prime Minister Harold Wilson to convey to the people of Israel and Mr. Eshkol’s family, “his deep and sincere sympathy and the sympathy of the Labor Party.”
