The Amsterdam public prosecutor will decide shortly whether to prosecute two El Al security officers involved in a shoot-out in the lobby of the Amsterdam Hilton Hotel May 9, it was reported today. One of them, 23-year-old Yehoshua Katz, was wounded in the shooting. The other, who was grazed by a bullet, dropped out of sight but has been identified and has been summoned here for questioning.
The Israelis drew their guns and exchanged fire with three bank robbers, all French, whom they mistook for Arab terrorists. The robbers were fleeing through the hotel lobby where an El Al crew was waiting for a bus to the airport. The security officers believed at the time that they were about to attack the Israeli crew. If brought to trial, the men will be charged with illegally carrying and using fire arms.
