Judge Harry P. Rosecan, who now presides over the local Police Court, and Judge Moses Hartman, figure prominently in the local primaries that take place today. Judge Rosecan is a candidate on the Republican ticket for prosecuting attorney. If nominated and elected he will be the first Jew to occupy the position of prosecuting attorney in St. Louis.
He was appointed to the Police Court bench in 1925 and was reappointed in 1929. During his administration, he tried 217,000 cases.
Judge Hartman is president of a local Temple and received the highest vote from the members of the St. Louis Bar Association who endorsed him for a six year term for the Circuit Court. He is one of the prominent civic and Jewish leaders in the city. He is a member of the leading Jewish organizations of the city and has taken an interest in the work of the Zionist Organization. He presided over all the divisions of the Circuit Court and is recognized as an authority on Child Welfare, having had considerable experience with Juvenile Court work. He leads the ticket for the Circuit Court.
