Governor Frank Merriam has named two Jews to the new California Unemployed Relief Commission, it was learned today. The body will administer $24,000,000 in relief funds.
The Jews on the commision, to which eight members have been appointed, are I. Irving Lipsitch and Dr. Monroe Deutsch.
Lipsitch is executive director of the Federation of Jewish Organizations at Los Angeles, while Dr. Deutsch is assistant to the president of the University of California at Berkeley.
