The German spies who entered Britain disguised as refugees and were caught with a portable radio transmitter with which they intended to broadcast information to Germany were executed today at Pentonville Prison. They were Jose Waldberg, 25, and Karl Meier, 24–the first spies executed in Britain in this war.
