Israel security forces have arrested a network of some 20 people, Arabs and Jews, suspected of working for the Syrians. The spokesman of the police Northern Command said the arrests had been made recently, in the northern and central parts of the country. The arrestees, he said, include Jewish members of left-wing organizations including Matzpen. Two of these Jews, he added, had received training in Syria in the use of explosives and terrorist techniques. The head of the network is an Arab who had been a member of one of the Israeli Communist parties, the spokesman said. He added that the group had been planning acts of terror inside Israel.
